是否在選舉期間訪美，立法院副院長洪秀柱說「機率不高」，被問及是否計畫請黨主席朱立倫或副手代表訪美？洪秀柱說：「這都在我們的計畫當中」。朱立倫受訪時則說，要競選總部做深入的討論。
洪秀柱是否訪美受外界關注，也引發洪秀柱與國民黨不同調，洪秀柱近日說，選舉時程不夠用，訪美機率確實不大。洪秀柱說，國民黨一向重視美國這個朋友，長期來都是合作夥伴，美國對國民黨的政策相當信任。
洪秀柱說，去不去都會引起外界評論，如果不去，對手會說她缺少國際觀，如果去，是不是會被評為「拿香跟拜」。她說，因此應該跳脫這種思考，以自己打選戰為主。
媒體詢問，會不會考慮請副手、黨主席幫忙訪美？洪秀柱說，當然，這也都在計畫當中。
朱立倫說，他和洪還沒有討論此事，討論後有結論，會再跟大家報告。
